The best kept secret in Sony's history is exposed again. Engadget, the technology blog, revealed the prototype of the PlayStation phone, a cellular phone by Sony-Eriksson that supports the PlayStation brand even before Sony officially announces it.

This is not the first time the PS phone is revealed. Photos of it, as well as reports regarding the technical specs have been circulating the net for months now – but this is the first time a working model of it is shown on video.

The device whose name will be Xperia Play will run on Android and apparently be the first device to include the PlayStation Suite – a cellular application that will be able to operate PlayStation games.

It is a slider device that shows control keys reminiscent of the PlayStation controllers when open. The main screen will be a touch screen that will apparently enable playing games.

Although engadget's members couldn't enter the PlayStation application in the device (which is still empty of content), they were able to install an emulator capable of running PS1 games and demonstrated how the device coped with the "Street Fighter EX Plus Alpha" game.
