Those who still believe the Apple TV is still only Apple's "hobby" are in for some awakening. Gizmodo reported that you CAN install iPhone apps and games on Apple TV, but the device currently doesn't have a "launcher" to make them functional:

"According to Steven, while you can install apps after modifying its type, you just can't launch them. There's no built-in facility to do that, so someone has to do it. I bet the first ones will be the jailbreakers (hello, SNES and PlayStation 2 emulators!), but Apple will follow soon."

This piece of news remind me of War of the Worlds or any other similar plotted movie where in the aliens are already here! In this case, the apps can now be installed, but it's really up to Apple when they want to activate them. Of course, the jailbreak community will be leaps and bounds in progress once Apple finally activates theirs.

This is especially great news as this opens more streaming capabilities to Apple TV. Not to mention, who doesn't want to play Angry Birds or Pocket God on their HDTVs? Apple has invaded the tablet market in flying colors, what's to say they won't rule your TVs as well?
